It’s been a few weeks since I’ve had time to sit down and actually write a post.
I thought I would be willowing away the days on my dock with all the time in the world to write about all the exciting happenings around the Pond…ha!
Needless to say, that hasn’t been the case. We are SO busy with real estate I have barely spent a minutes time on my dock at all this summer!
In any event, I didn’t want another day to go by without sharing with you one of THE iconic events at Green Pond during the summer…..the 4th of July Parade.
Now I know what you are thinking ‘Really? A parade?’….. Not just any parade, the Green Pond 4th of July Parade!
Rain or shine, this parade has gone on EVERY 4th of July morning at 10:00AM for almost 100 years!
Unfortunately, this 4th of July was one of the rare rainy cold 4th of July days that would keep most of the common folk away from walking in or watching a parade….but not at Green Pond! A few sprinkles just aren’t enough to keep a hearty Green Ponder from enjoying the 4th of July!
To me, having lived in many parts of the country, nothing represents a slice of Americana more than a good parade….and here at Green Pond on the 4th of July…..Americana it is!
